ok, we are quite slow on releasing records, but here is our next release on film. we stumbled upon the artist on a reseach for a music video - in the end we didn t discover a video director, but denial.of.service, an artist in many fields including music, video and performance art. as he ist active since the early eighties, he was involved in numerous projects, doing productions, remixes and videos for and with artists like david bowie, attrition extrawelt and daf. if you take a closer look on his artistic activity since the early 80ies ever then you will quickly realize there is a whole universe to uncover foald from around this artist. our suggestion: start with this fine ep, featuring a hidden secret artwork that unveils in the dark.

following up the fantastic summer re-release of upsetting keys “empathy” ep, path records follows with its first new catalogue number since 2006. path 008 marks the return of artist fate 258, whose 1999 “why 2k” path 001 ep has been a hotly sought after item on discogs. the three-track ep contains two exciting new mixes of cult classic techno track “the path”. the a-side version “path to hell” is the harder of the pair, a dark edgy journey into the unknown with shuffling 808 rhythms providing much of the melody. “path to heaven” slows the groove down and adds warm juno pads throughout the mix for a very deep detroit flavored techno style. on the final track “heaven or hell” sort of a broken beat downtempo piece, sparse vocals and bladerunner samples mix to complete the dystopian concept. these mixes of “the path” are considered pre-mixes, as they were completed in 1998 before the original release of path 001. fate 258 is a project from brooklyn producer reade truth, known for his work over the last decades on labels such as planet e, sonic groove, n-syde, wurst and strictly rhythm to name a few. limited to 250 worldwide, with the first 100 including full black and white cover art.

this newly inspired project has also been launched as a partnership with hometown friends - nitin and former art department band-mate kenny glasgow in support of an issue very close to their hearts - animal cruelty. white has recently begun work on maac (music against animal cruelty), a charity project started with long time friend and pulse radio founder wade cawood. the charity will serve as a fundraising initiative with plans to galvanize the support of the electronic music industry and to help raise money and awareness to protect african wildlife facing the threat of diminishing population or extinction. social experiment will serve as a non profit record label with 100% of proceeds donated to maac.

we are proud to announce the double lp edition of echospaces phase90 project, lovingly remastered by bazza (abbey road studios/thom yorke) @ alchemy mastering, london. features unreleased new material and beautiful silk screened metallic sleeves and art direction from the very talented lindsay todd of firecracker recordings & house of traps. the entire album was bounced down to 1/4- analog tape prior to remastering to preserve the integrity of the masters. this project was deeply inspired by the possessive quality of supernatural textures, field recordings and found sounds conducted at the calvary cemetery. there is something quite haunting in the underlying tone of these recordings, an ominous feeling not for the fainthearted. -illuminati- celebrates the progression of the soul, a concept which stems from metempsychosis. the material on this album can be interpreted as sinistral--dark, heavy due to the hardware and its currencies emitted by its source--the phase 90. an acidic dream of transliminality, this is the first phase90 project to materialize in its essence, until now. limited to 500 numbered copies.

with b&w printed sleeve - housed in cover art from p.a.m.s misha hollenbach. studio styrka springs a leak with three new tracks from villa abo, the mainstay of veteran swedish analogue unit frak. released by australian label noise in my head, sibilant is the product of a mutual appreciation for severed heads and terse tapes, both of which propelled a 13 year old jan svensson to form frak back in 1987. on warming up signal, svensson sounds the nuclear alarm with an unforgiving techno meltdown that leaves no survivors. the flip gives our disintegrated minds some relief with drum-magnet, a paranoid beat track recorded in collaboration with karlskrona punk rocker nebula, and the hypnotic syndrome beautiful.

as benedikt rugar s superbly illustrated cover art for the recent cocktail d amore compilation nothing matters when we re dancing proved, the berlin collective proudly celebrate their status as a forum for berlin s gay community to fully express themselves. with no releases on the label since that compilation arrived in january, discodromo and dj boris have now unveiled a sister operation with a focus on edits under the wonderful name cockring d amore. the debut release features contributions from label regular massimiliano pagliara, the unheralded trent and founders discodromo.

with an overall length of 140cm, the marabou is one of the largest storks. the marabou’s head and neck have only a few downy feathers. the feathers on its back, wings, and tail are dark grey with a shimmering green gloss, and its underside is a radiant white. its red and entirely unresearched throat pouch is a distinctive feature. 3tone.triangle and singer madlaina balmer fly to africa together on the marabou and caress this wonderful summer with warm synthesiser clouds, airy field recordings and pleasant, raw percussion. “marabu” will be available for purchase from the bug wan record label this september 2015, both digitally and as a 7 inch vinyl record (including a download code). the art work to accompany this journey was conceived and designed by marcel huwiler. lets dance above the clouds!

we are pleased to present with * black hole* by meta.83 the work of a consequent defender of the art of analogue production. the soon available track * black hole* by the liebe*detail co-founder jinxed us from the very first moment and it was clear to us, that we d like to add a number of top-class remixes beside the original. for this we were able to win no one else then the tobias and borrowed identity (after his recent release on pastamusik * crack in the box ep*). the powerful acid bassline in the original version as well as in the gravity version creates from the very first moment a hypnotic undertow which seems to keep increasing throughout the track. its masterfully celebrated how to generate effective hits by carefully chosen elements and canny used effects. tobias also devote the focus in his interpretation on the acid aspect – but with more dynamics and with a higher beat frequency which will make every techno-djs heart beat faster. when carefully set tones are fading in and out this version gets a brilliant final touch. the remix of borrowed identity sounds in its structure more dirty and rough and though at the same time very fragile. a wonderful gem in pure culture drifting towards a black hole ..... perfect.

we started the classic series featuring tracks that we love, bought, played out and which we have the feeling more people should know about them. for this third, it is a great honor for us to welcome such a living legend, a pioneer from kalamazoo, michigan (city right in the middle between chicago and detroit): jay denham aka fade ii black. his style is a unique blend of these two worlds - chicago house and detroit techno, with a kalamazoo touch. he stays true to the underground, makes the music for the art of it and always remembers where he comes from.

up first is gigolo, a spare and weird house cut with sine waves and random claps, hunched drums and trippy synth lines. it s a unique track made in a unique way and will lead to plenty of freaky dance floor moments, for sure. co. art is a whacked out techno cut with slap-funk claps, blistering and blistered synth lines and a rugged bit of bass underlining it all. the track is cavernous and metallic, empty and distant as if it somehow survived a nuclear blast. on the flip, alzheimer is a slow and gurgling, swampy techno number with broken drums and crawling synths that sound like their batteries have run down. icy, watery melodies eventually rain down, but the track remains resolutely eerie. last of all, fabric is another decaying track with subtle, heavily filtered synths and drums all making for a minimal groove that is barely there.

hedonism is an ethical theory that pleasure, in a sense of satisfaction of desires, is the highest good and proper aim of human life, and this seems to also be hdnsm’s ultimate musical objective. their first release debuted as a kickstarter of “variant ep” v.a. series, showcasing three very different yet highly contemplative creations from cumsecade, anestie gomez and man spider. hdnsm flips the coin and for the second episode of “variant” series it lands on two very solid, incredibly moody and extensive works from fresh talents shcaa and cleymoore. the ep features two very different tracks yet they share the same minimalistic core. both works are blessed with intricate micro-drum arrangements for those feeling groove hungry whilst still standing tall in the experimental abstract realm pleasing those who crave unusual frequencies. a-side’s “masquée” is one of shcaa’s typical rides between sound and silence and it is hard to find another artist who understands sound gaps between grooves better than shcaa does. with his signature vocals and an incredibly delicious duality between acoustic instrumentalism and electronic slamming, this is a groovy, highly deep, very intelligently arranged piece. the flip-side “nebula”, signed by pluie/noir’s boss cleymoore, is a tip of an iceberg when it comes to the art of stripping down. in an apparently thin canvas of minimal drum arrangements there’s a vast amount of sound frequencies underneath a steady ever-kicking groove, tricking your mind into thinking that you’re hearing less than you actually perceive. nebula is hypnotic and dense but focused and sophisticatedly groovy. like the repetitive vocals you’ll hear throughout the b-side, this v.a. sticks to your mind like an addiction of some sort and pushes hdnsm to a new standard of avant-garde and forward-thinking attitude. as before, this vinyl only release comes in a gorgeous cover featuring a painting from max binski and the number of copies available is limited

raam follows up his two earlier eps with some warm, gritty and analogue fuzz. the ep starts with padme which is a heavy and chord driven techno track. a thick synth stab is building up over a tight 909-beat, wooden percussion to a big crescendo which makes this track a peak time banger.

chapter edits is the brainchild of scott gray aka chapter (artist and dj) and corbi (producer, dj and a&r at fina records) with the aim being to bring art and music together by releasing disco-funk re-edits in limited edition chapter art sleeves. based in ibiza, they will be collaborating with guest djs and producers from with each new release as well as hosting their own parties under the name melon bomb at various venues across the island.

aboutface is firstly a composer/live performer and secondly a dj, hailing from east london he steps up for the next release on amirali’s newly founded imprint dark matters. drawing upon both the sociological and environmental landscape as creative inspiration, aboutface uses his background in fine art and painting to help inform his productions. all the last three years music has been inspired by a thousand mile plus journey through eastern europe and around the coastal regions of the uk, each song using the environmental recordings of a different region or city as the creative starting point.

>cissi moon changed my life! it was in a now refurbished part of stockholm in a futuristic cafe/club called holger that i had my first encounter with loudly played club music. the night was called db and we lined up with our fake ids every saturday to hear cissi moon spin drum & bass records and let the bass engulf our beings.< >at the time the art of making electronic music was totally alien to me, i could not for the life of me work out how to ever make music that carried the same emotional and physical impact as i felt on that dance floor. i have spent the last 17 years or so trying to get back to that state of being at one and completely lost with the music.< this record concludes a trilogy of eps by peder mannerfelt on his eponymously named label. what comes next is everything and beyond.

general ludd is rich mcmaster from new jersey and tom marshallsay from canterbury. the guys met at the glasgow art school, where rich studied environmental art and tom studied fine art. their first collaborations were interactive sound installations, but that quickly gave way to all night music making sessions. this is their second ep for us – a more left field turn than their first, but, we can assure you, both tracks will break discerning dancefloors wide open.
